The Association of Art Museum Curators

Guidelines for Participation:

The Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the AAMC believe that our curatorial colleagues are an invaluable resource. Accordingly, we have established this forum so that the AAMC membership might actively engage in online discussions that foster frequent exchange, answer research queries and procedural questions, and address more philosophical issues that face our profession.
All postings to the AAMC Web-based discussion forum are to be confidential to the AAMC membership base. Any information, advice or opinion ("opinion") provided by an individual member to the Association of Art Museum Curators interactive web site is given with the understanding that the addressee is speaking on his/her sole behalf and that comments, information, advice or opinion are not necessarily those held by the collective Association of Art Museum Curators. It is further given on the understanding that the addressee will not assert any claim with respect to such opinion and will indemnify The Association of Art Museum Curators, its trustees, officers, employees and agents against any and all liability and expenses arising out of such opinion.
Discussion threads may be started by any individual member of the AAMC.
Others may originate with the AAMC's standing committees in an effort to solicit opinions from the membership on the issues the committee members are discussing.
Research queries should provide as much information as possible, allowing non-specialists to understand and benefit from the discussion.
Postings should be courteous. This discussion will be unmoderated unless warranted by postings. We welcome controversy but require a tone of civility and collegiality. Please refrain from sarcasm or other attempts at humor that may offend.
Please proof-read your postings with the diligence that you apply to official correspondence.
Before replying to a query, please read through the entirety of that specific discussion thread to avoid duplicating a response.
There shall be no selling of goods, services or other such sales and promotional offerings on the forum.
